I have installed Zoom in two ways: by terminal and; by the available app in the store; Both have the same issue. The microphone is working on my laptop, but it is not working in the Zoom setting, even though it shows the mic name. In the Zoom setting, the mic is not muted, but still, the issue is coming. How to get the microphone to work in the Zoom as a "Same as system" setting for input, but not a "default setting." It doesn't work. However, when I activate droidcam, it shows "audio connected" on my smartphone now. And the smartphone works as a mic on Skype with the "default setting" as the input device. Just Zoom is having an issue. Update: march 28 2021. I fixed this issue by uninstalling the Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller driver and the Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED driver at the same time [ use the delete option when uninstalling ], I restarted, and after a second the red x disappeared and my sound was back!!.
